* Notes *

Thanks for downloading Kauri Hills Golf Club - New Zealand Open Edition v1.2.
This zip contains the kaurihills.xcr distribution file you will need to install the course.
Several custom libraries have been used during construction. They are as follows;

Lagalochan Bay course library
August course library
Augusta 2000 course library
Headgate course library

They have not been included in the zip to make the file size smaller.
You may already have these libraries installed though. Use the Course Manager to
check this and download them from the Copyright Club or Teebox Association if you need them.

This is my first course for any PC golf game. I have tried to create a course that
looks, feels, sounds and plays realistically. I also wanted to create a course that everyone
with the game's recommended machine specifications will be able to enjoy and play with some speed.
Hopefully I have achieved this and the course will become one of your favourites.

Kauri Hills is not very long in comparison to some of the custom courses I have tried.
I do have five or six long par 4's but good decision making and strategy is more important
than going for length off the tee.

I consider Kauri Hills to be more a members course that is capable of hosting tournaments.
The fairways are therefore quite generous but the rough is very punishing.
I suggest carrying a six or seven wood if accuracy off the tee is not your forte as these
clubs work quite well from the longer grass.

The bunkers are very deep in some places so be wary of them on your approach shots and
conservative in your recovery should you end up in one.

I suggest normal or dry greens be chosen for play. Simply because the speed feels right on
them and the AI putting seems more realistic.

On a few holes you may see areas of ground under repair or GUR. These are intentional imperfect
areas of the course that allow you to take a free drop. Press the key D to take the drop.
You will not be penalized a stroke. Make sure the lie indicator actually says GUR though before
taking the drop. The rules of golf do allow you to play the ball as it lies.
The ball will come out like a shot played from dirt.

* Installation *

1. Download and install the custom libraries required if you do not already have them.
   If you have a previous version of Kauri Hills you will need to unistall the course and library
   before installing the new version.

2. Create a folder named kau in the sierra/pga2000/courses directory.

3. Open the Course Manager, locate and install the file kaurihills.xcr to this kau folder.

4. If you downloaded the supplementary course guide, unzip the contents of it now to this kau folder.
   Clicking on Course text on the course selection screen will let you access the
   file Kauri Hills.html and then the course guide itself by following a link.

5. Play the game and choose Kauri Hills GC at the course selection screen.
